Hello everyone!
Today is day 2 of our tour!
It's started on a plane flying to Dubai! The flight had been long and all of the girls didn't manage to get a lot of sleep. Partly because of excitement, I have to admit. We heard tons of stories of the mall-like airport and couldn't wait to stretch our legs and explore in Dubai.
Once we landed, we found that the airport was even bigger than we imagined. We appeared to be the real rural kids from africa stereotype looking with such fascination in our eyes as we examined the huge elevators and garden within the airport!
We all found our free lunches at various places in the airport and headed towards our gate, all tired, yet still managing to keep our eyes awake to board the plane...well at least some of us.
A more comfortable plane sent the touring girls to the beautiful Venezia, Italia! And from what I've heard, the view was spectacular. More "happy birthdays" were sung to Beth Jamie who turned 18 today (A new legal eagle) and "Siyahamba" which we were pretty impressed with!
We all claimed or luggage and found our two missing girls who have been spending time, vacationing in England, Kate Wade and Emma Alfeld. They greeted us with signs and hugs!
We all rode the bus to our hotel in Jeslo, "American Hotel." We were overly excited and our eyes were glued to our screens when we realized we had FREE WIFI...but only in the lobby.
We walked down to the beach right on our doorstep, Lido di lesolo. After a couple of group shots and selfies we walked across the beach and found authentic Italian gelato! There's no going back now to anything less than Italian gelato.
We returned to our hotel to do our first ever informal concert overseas! Some people heard us as they were walking along, heard the marimbas and were instantly hooked! Taking pictures and dancing along with us. We performed our secular music set which gave us the boost of confidence we need for tomorrow's big performance in Venice.
After supper, we all freshened up and headed to our rooms to get some much deserve sleep.
Love, the Music Touring Choir girls xx
