Today was a day full of travelling, exploring and real bonding time with the group!
Our departure from Ljubljana was a sad one. We all really enjoyed exploring the beautiful city. We arrived in our next city with such curiosity. None of us knew what Maribor even had to offer.
Our tour guide, Daniel, led us on a short walking tour around Maribor. The town resembles Ljubljana a fair amount. More creative graffiti, more old, historical buildings and many more open mouths at how interesting European history is compared to South Africas (that's probably because we've been studying South African history since we were 10, Slovenians probably find their history tales yawn-able).
The weather was freezing. I almost felt like it would snow any minute...just what we wanted! We packed for winter, we expected winter, we got winter.
With an hour of free time, we got some fast food, coffee, sandwiches and snacks for a 5 hour road trip and even shopped our hearts out in some stores we can't find in South Africa like H&M. I think the girls have become professionals at time management now. This did, however, result in us running through the streets like chickens without heads trying to get back to the bus so we wouldn't be stranded in Slovenia.
We made it back to the bus (on time) and as a result of our new found closeness within our group, we did a mini fashion show for each other showing off our new goods. Our road trip started with a good note I believe. Unfortunately, the lack of food, tiredness, cramped space and loud noises were getting to all of us and our grumpy sides were starting to show. It happens to the best of us! At least we were understanding that everyone felt the same amount of annoyance and irritation you did too.
Luckily, we managed to arrive in Budapest, Hungary in one piece (no one tore the limbs off anyone) Quickly, we had to get changed for a concert in a church called St Anna's. It was a beautiful old building with paintings covering the walls and ceilings. Typical European church. The girls performed the Sacred Set really well, which was confirmed by a new English friend we found in the audience.

While driving back to our hotel, the Atlas, we kept our eyes glued to the windows because as the sun sets and the lights begin to turn on, Budapest comes to life.
Supper was a must and we were delighted to have some good food in our tummies. With thoughts of the jam packed day tomorrow, which includes a trip to an aquarium and big shopping mall, we headed to our rooms to hit the hay!
Love the Music Touring girls x
