After a quick breakfast in our hotel in Jeslo, we had to pack up our things and head on a bus to drive to Ljubljana, Slovenia. We happened to find another touring choir/music group from Denmark and we got to do a bit of a sing off with them. We performed "Uthe Wena" and a song that the Springfield Glee Club has performed before, "Some Nights" by the band FUN, which our talented girls quickly learnt through busking.
On our road trip we experienced snow, which was quite a treat! We all screamed like this was the first time we were able to see light. Take into consideration that most of us girls have never seen snow and this was thee best photo moment for our parents and Instagram.
We explored the castle, took some pictures and then headed to the city for very little free time. With ice cream and lunch in our tummies, we ran to find the Dragon Bridge and meet our group so we could start setting up for our concert outside our hotel.
We performed our Secular Music set and the Slovenians really seemed to love our music as a few of them bought our "African Calls" CD. We even got some fan mail from two Slovenian girls who watched us and enjoyed the marimbas. They requested we become pen pals in a handwritten letter.
We walked down to St Nicholas, a beautiful catholic church, for one of the most breathtaking services I've ever experienced. The church was gigantic and the ceilings were and walls were painted with such detail. All the comments afterwards all praised the beauty of the church, even though we couldn't understand a word of the Slovenian mass.
We returned to our hostel and enjoyed a delicious four course meal! But after our long day, still laughing and taking pictures, we headed to our rooms to pack for tomorrow's adventures, our day trip to Maribor, Slovenia and then off to Budapest, Hungary.
